Night fishing and the moon

I've heard others reports about night fishing and the lunar cycle, but what have all of you out there experienced with regard to what's shaking with the moon and the night bite?
According to the article on the front page it's the 3-4 days before and after the full moon that is the time to be on the water. Is this consistent with others' experience? Why is it that the nights of the full moon may not be the best? I'd think this time is the time to be on the water.

The new moon, not the full moon, provides the best fishing. The full moon gives more visability to the baitfish. The new moon gives the top predators the advantage. This Thursday is a new moon. Take Friday off and muskie fish all Thursday night.

For the last 5 years I have scheduled extra nights on the water during the new/full phases. I am a believer in these times as being top quantity and quality nights to be on the water. Last year on Halloween night(full moon) we had 3 walleyes over 28". With the full moon use large minnow style cranks that the fish can see better in the extra light. On new moon nights I find that rattle style cranks will make a difference.
August 22nd is the next full moon. Looks like I need a 4 day weekend!
