Bowstring Lake Stories

Bowstring used to be a good lake for crappies and perch before fishing pressure got to be too much. Any fish stories from the good old days?

Last time I was up there about 3 years ago we did really good with the eyes. Haven't been up there ever since.

last time we fished it was about 8yrs. ago we did real good late evening on north side then, ive been wonderng how it has been lately also.

Remember how many ice fishing house "villages" there were on Bowstring? No large groups anymore just scattered houses now. An extreme example of over fishing.

Last time I was up there was 8 years ago too. We did real good on the north side as well. That spring was the only time I ever heard of catching Bowstring crappies at night. My dad has fished Bowstring his entire life and didn't believe me. He thought me and my buddies were out raisin' heck all night.

I remember a few lakes like that there was a lake near pine river we used to fish with my granpa jail lake huge craps people found out and boom they were gone.
