#fishhunt#
Time to do some touch up on the decoys(Mallards, Bluebills,Teal) I bought a mallard kit a bout 2 years ago and the paint rubbed off quite easily after minimal hunting. They do get banged around in decoys bags quite a bit. I was wondering what kind of paint everyone uses. Flat, I assume but does anyone ever try to put a coat of flat poly spray on them to protect the paint. Satin may be the lowest sheen they make. I would think that would harden the paint up and make them last a bit longer. It may be still too shiny

figplucker
The clear coat is actually called krylon 1311, works excellent as top coat to protect your paint as it has no shine at all, just make sure to not put it on thick or you will get a slight shine. better to use 2 very light coats.
