Speedometer reading 75-120 rather than 0-45?

The hardest part to do is get the cluster out of the truck. once out. then you would have to desolder and remove each stepped motor(one for each guage. Then replace and solder it back in. Ironically, there just was a segment on 2 guys garage this morning on Speed channel about this. If you are close I could help you do the repair.

I am having the same problem with my 04 Yukon.

Did a little research on the google and it looks like this is a very common G.M. problem.

This should be a recall item.

Dealer wants $600.00 for the fix.

Do some looking on line.

There is a lot of info out about this problem.

I don't want to start a Ford vs Chev thing. I USED to drive all GMs but it seems like there's gotten to be a lot of common GM problems. I sure hope they can turn that around.

Just wondering, but once it gets "fixed" is it a real fix with proper parts that will last, or will it happen again? I remember my inake gasket on a malibu, that is now leaking again.... grrrrrr.... because it was "fixed" before the gasket was actually improved.

Thanks newguy - I appreciate the repair offer. Unfortunately, I'm quite a ways north of you. The speedo's actually cycled back to nearly accurate. I doubt it'll last but I've been running the GPS for now and probably will for awhile until I can get the cluster out and either try & repair it myself or send it in. Thanks for all the good information everyone on this topic. Much appreciated.
