Jiffy Auger

loadmaster

Question

Kids gave me a New Jiffy for XMas. Got it set and started. The throttle handle seems like the cable is loose or not adjusted right. I ran it for 5 min at different speed and everytime that I release the throttle lever, the auger never stops rotating. I have never drilled a hole with it. Is this something I can adjust or local dealer rep.

I hope the auger works better than Jiffy's service center. Tried calling all day and all I got was a busy signal but when I did get thru nobody would answer and got to a voice mail or msg center which said the box was full and would not take any more msg. Whats up with that?>>>>>later the load

there should be an idle screw on the bottom of the carb. my strikemaster is inbetween the tank and engine. my guess is its running lean, so i would turn it out no more than a half turn if it gets worse go turn the screw in.

Wait until you run a tank of gas through it before you do anything. I had a jiffy 3hp auger that did the same thing until it got broke in, and it was the best auger i've owned so far. I did buy a 2ph auger to save on weight, but I'm still not decided if it's any better for the money. The gears/clutch is just tight out of the box on some jiffy augers.
