Cold temps?

The water down there is still the same temp but as winter drags on the will feed less and become more finicky on what they will feed on till about the end of February when they will start to ramp up with anticipation of the spawn. It will kinda make you mad when you are perching and you can't seem to keep them off your hook and when the season was open you could not buy a bite.

The high pressure we are having with the cold temps can make a difference.

I agree with Jimalm. I have had some wonderful below zero fishing, but I feel in my experience that the High Pressure often associate with cold weather is what makes the walleyes tight lipped. What I have found this last week fishing LOW and Rainy, is that a whole minnow on plain hook will get those finicky fish.
