Home Furnace ?????

Sorgy

Question

Are there any heating and air conditioning experts out there( probably not this week) that can answer my question.

I have an Armstron Ultra 97 furnace that is a High efficiancy furnace. Here is the dilemma.

Every winter after an extended cold streak. The flame sensor fails to send the signal to the contoler that fires up the gas. I have had technicians come out and look at it and all they do is clean the flame sensor and put it back in. Everything works fine for a while.

I have cleaned my flame sensor several times over the last week and it is not working several days later.

I will have an expert come out and check it out again but there has to be something bigger going on. Any suggestions???

Thanks for the help

Steve

time for a new sensor? If its been cleaned many times its probly a good idea... with the right equipment, you can measure what the burner control is seeing from the sensor..possibly issue with burner control as well..butt if the sensor has been cleand alot they tend to get junk built up on it so it doesnt sense as well. good place to start, unless your gonna call someone. Could probly get a new sensor from DEY dist. Theres a couple locations around the metro, and they sell to the general public.

Pikechaser,

Thanks for the help. I will pick up a couple of sensor's and go from there. It is not a big problem when we are out and about. But if we were to leave town for a few days it would be bad.

Thanks again

Steve
