I sent clam customer service an email with pics as well and have not heard a peep in return. I bought mine on Oct. 24 of last year and still have my receipt but I am wondering If the "R" store in Walker will take mine back or not being it has been more than thirty days?! I am also not crazy about exchanging it for another one but I think they are all out of Eskimos as well.

Well I sent 2 e-mails to Clam customer service, have not heard anything back. I took back to Gander and returned, they seemed hesitant to give money back rather than exchange, but they also did not have another unit in stock to exchange, so got my money back and happened to find what is apparently the last Eskimo Quickfish 6 within 50 miles and went and bought it. Set it up in the house, the fabric looks much better, don't know that it is any better quality (actually seems a little thinner) but at least no signs of wear or defect. The stitching does seem to be better on the Eskimo and how the poles are stitched into the fabric seems more sturdy. Zipper also seems to be an upgrade. Trying it out tonight, seems like a good unit. If the clam wouldn't have had the thinning fabric I'm sure it would have been good, just didn't want to run in to problems down the road or lose life of the unit because it was bad to start. Thanks for your input on the topic.

On colder days you will run into lots of condensation with the heaters going in the Eskimo (don't know that is much better in the uninsulated clams). Once it freezes you will find that it flakes off very easily instead of bonding to the fabric. I'm hoping they come out with a thermal version in the near future.

But as far as quality, I don't think you will be disappointed. Their fabric has a rubberized coating that flexes well with very little signs of creasing. When the windows get frosted, you will like the vecro window design - allows you to pull them open to see your tip-ups.

Don't mean to bump this to the top, but even though I already exchanged for the Eskimo- Just wondering-I have still not heard anything back from Clam on my original e-mail/complaint. Seems suprising after hearing how great customer service has been for others?????
