Help get a newbie started?

Anyone out there hunt Coyotes? Well, I am really intrested in getting into it. I've tried it several times with a mouth call with no results. I am wondering if there is anyone out there that feels they are above average at it, and if they would be willing to let me tag along on a hunt. I've heard hunting on a full moon night is a blast. Never had the opportunity to do it with anyone though.

Don't give up. Practice practice and patience. I haven't been doing it long but, I have called a couple in. Just because one doesn't come in doesn't mean you're not doing it right. There might not be any there. Look for signs. With the snow they should be easier to see.

Seeing you are from cloud area. Lots of hunters around there, could be they are there but have been wised up also. May be hagnin in the cover where ya may not see them.

This might be a silly question already answered, but never hunted coyotes before is it legal to carry a shotgun with buckshot and a rifle for the long range shots at the same time? Is that legal in this state?

You can have both with you. Some prefer a shotgun and some rifle. I was out this weekend and 2 guys were banging away with their rifles and another guy had his shotgun with buck shot and got the coyote. It's whatever you want to use.
