Sweden's Wolf Hunt

Just saw this on the bbc news HSOforum. Sweden is having a hunt to manage the wolves. They decided that 210 wolves is about right to have around. A good read. Would be nice if this was picked up by the news media in the US.

Also found a 2 day old timber wolf deer kill yesterday. Wolf beds near carcass. Didn't see the wolves and my dog wasn't reacting so they probably weren't around. Also saw fresh deer sign and beds approx 75 yards away. Deer seem to know when they wolves are full. I personally like having wolves around, but would like them managed like we do other wildlife, based on facts/science and not based on the emotions of those at the extremes.

This should get you to the BBC HSOforum: www.news.bbc.uk/2/hi/europe/8436670.stm

or search for "Swedish wolf hunt"

This is how Alaska takes care of there wolf population. My buddy was staying at a resort over christmas and went for a snowmobile ride and saw this wolf he had been B.Sing with a guy from the Czech republic that was hunting wolfs earlier in the day so went back to the lodge and and the guy was able to locate it and call it in. My buddy can't wait till next year he will be a resident and be able to hunt all Alaskas animals.
