Last year at the DNR Roundtable we saw a presentation about fine tuning Walleye stocking to achieve the best results for the effort and buck, during the discussions that evening one stakeholder told about how there stocking success went up on their lake after getting the pike population under control through regulations.

Just some food for thought.

I've heard pike and bass really put the chew on 'eye fry. That could be part of the issue.

Could be, I know they feed on muskie fry since the muskies spawn slightly later in season so the pike are a little bigger and tend to feed on them.
