ChuckN
Coincidentally, I received a call from a friend last night who told me he was in an accident. He was traveling through his small town, a couple blocks from home going 30mph when a car ran through a stop sign and they collided. Before the accident, the snowmobile was simply secured with the tie down bar. There was enough force in the accident that the tie bar snapped, busted the whole tie down (tie down bolt, frame, etc) assembly and the snowmobile was partially off the trailer, and almost into the back of the truck. If I travel long distances, I usually always secure the rear of the sled to the trailer. This incident reinforces my reasoning to do so. It only takes a minute or two.
