NFC Playoffs 2009

The teams are set, where they will fall is still up in the air.

New Orleans has a bye, will be the 1 or 2 seed. They found some ways to win earlier, can they regain their composure in January?

Minnesota looks to be the #2 seed, but could snag the #1, or fall to #2 or #3. They have bombed in a couple of games recently, add to the mix the Farve-Childress flame up against the Panthers. Top to bottom perhaps the best team in the NFC, but can they get their chemistry together for a playoff run?

Philadelphia currently holds the lead in the East, big matchup this week with the Cowboys for 1st in the NFC East, winner takes it. I'll lean towards Philly, but we all know Dallas can beat them, or beat themselves, or just get beat. The RB position is an issue for the Eagles right now, but McNabb has been playing good ball, and DeShaun Jackson can light it up in multiple ways.

Arizona can they make another January run like last year? Depends on whether the 4td or 4int Kurt Warner shows up. They showed they can dominate the Vikings, but they followed that up with turnover filled debacle against the 49ers.

Green Bay is coming together after appearing to be on life-support less than 2 months ago. Rodgers continues to play great ball. The running game is up and down. If the defense comes to play the can run the tables. The St.Croix/Mississippi River Rivalry round 3 could be the biggest game of the year.

Dallas, now finding a way to win in December, on the road of course. Can they win the battle for the east at home versus Philly. It will be a tough game. They need to continue to play at the top of their game, and not turn the ball over. This team seems most succeptible to their opponents gaining momentum in the game. The most hated team in the NFL could further solidify that status with a run to the big game. The team that most did not want to see win in December has found a way to win.

It should be an interesting week 17, and an even better NFC Playoffs.

There is a chance the Packers could play the rival Vikings.

As incredible as it might seem, the Packers could play the rival Vikings in the first round. It would require the Vikings to lose twice (at Chicago Monday night, New York Giants Sunday), the Cardinals to beat the Packers and the Eagles to beat the Cowboys.

Under that scenario, the Eagles would be the No. 2 seed because they would have the second best record in the NFC at 12-4. The Vikings (11-5) would drop to the No. 4 seed because they would lose a tiebreaker with Arizona (11-5) based on the Cardinals’ head-to-head victory Dec. 6.

The Packers at 10-6 would be tied with the Cowboys, but would win a tiebreaker that would make them the No. 5 seed and the Cowboys No. 6. Since No. 5 plays at No. 4, the Packers would be headed to the Metrodome for a shot at the Vikings.

As of last nights game.......if the Vikings face the Packers in the first round, the Packers kick the living snot out of us. Two teams going on totally different directions right now! I see the Vikings as the number 4 seed.............Childress will find a way for us to lose. Perhaps putting all 11 guys inside the tackles and trying to run up the gut???
