Wood Lake Fishing Reports

Any ice condition reports for either lake? I'll be up with a group the weekend of 1/9. Hoping to be driving by then. Any chance? How's the bite been for sunnies and crappies. Last year we crushed while scouting on 1/3 and caught less than half as many on 1/10.

Any ice near the Granstburg, Siren, Webster area approaching drivable condition?

I was out on Big Wood 12/24 and 12/26. Fished the 36' hole both times and caught fish but most were 6 and 7 inchers(mostly crappies). Lots of water on top of the ice on Saturday. No more than 6 inches of ice and one spot was barely 4 inches.

How is the launch on this lake? Busy, Rough, Steep? I was thinking about taking my 12ft Aluminum out there next weekend

Resurrecting this thread. I haven't been out there since early 2010. How's the Bass fishing been the last couple years. I plan on buying a WI license and fishing the lake the first two weeks of the season.
