broken_line
i was out riding my 340 around today and coulndt get it over 45 through the 15" of powder, so i tightened the secondary clutch spring making it harder to move the halves apart.. what does this do to preformance, i was thinking it would help on the low end? croixflats
I think you want the secondary clutch to open up to get more top end. You will get more torque with the belt riding higher in the secondary clutch. I may be backwards on this. In 15 of powder I think 45 is all your going to get with a 340. Then again the last time I was on a 340 it was a 1974 jagLook at it as a 10 speed bike the pedal sprocket being a primary clutch and the wheel sprocket the secondary. When the chain rides high on the inside or taller sprocket you get more torque but you go slower put the chain on the small sprocket you go faster but less torque to turn the wheel. broken_line
yeah i think you are correct. i noticed more torque and faster to top end with the spring tighter, i also saw a jump of 120 rpms at full throttle..
