Horseshoe chain

I am thinking about heading out to try for some cats through the ice... I was just wondering if anybody here has done it and was willing to tell me some advice, places where it is easy to get on the lake, thin ice areas... I've never caught a cat through the ice and thought it would be fun. Thanks

Me too. And my 8.5 year old nephew Brandon is coming with. I better warn the fish ahead of time, last year he pulled in 20 by himself, the biggest being 27 inches.

Tonka, this is a little late but you should check out cattin the chain post under st. cloud area lakes. I'm sure you've probably already checked it out if you're looking to fish horseshoe for cats, but thought i'd throw it out there just in case.
