StrikeMaster 12000 Electric Auger

I am getting tired of being gassed out of my wheelhosue when I run my auger. So I was looking at the electric one. Anyone using those any thoughts on them...? Also I see they only come in a 8" auger but I looked at them and th 10" auger will fit on the elcetric power head. Has anyone tried that...? I guess I am not going to be drilling a bunch of holes so it does not need to be super fast or anything. Any input appreacited.

Thanks

I have been running the Strikemaster Electric in our perm on Mille Lacs for the past 10 years and so do many of my friends. No probelms with opening the old holes either. I am still running one of the older models with the cables. We just run long jumper cables into the shack from the truck. I have also ran this auger off the battery on the snowmobile and 4 wheeler. It starts every time and there is no mess.

Take a look at the icegators they are the best elec auger out there Im on my 3rd year with mine and they havent let me down The 10" attached to an 8" power head isnt really a good idea as it will cause more strain on the powerhead and that doesnt matter if it is a icegator or a strikemaster it will void your warentee When I want a bigger hole I just drill in a clover leaf and chip out the middle and that set of holes will be faster drilled than any gas auger could do
