jeffv22
I have a 1986 honda 4trax 350 and got it stuck in the snow. Had to walk back get a truck and someone to help pull it out. When I put it in gear it just killed the motor. Got it out backed up with it and that worked and then you could go foward to. Did i screw something up with the clutch or something. Or should I just ride it. It seems to be working right.
lumpyday
if its working now I would ride it. Its a honda the most reliable wheeler there is.
Dave S
Based on your description, it doesn't sound like you would have damaged anything.Welcome to the forums jeffv22 and lumpyday.
Macgyver55
If you were rocking it and shifting, it may have overheated the clutch. I've seen where the clutch discs kind of get stuck together from getting hot and shutting it off. They will pop loose after using it again. Do you by chance have regular/auto motor oil in it rather than ATV/Motorcycle oil? It seems to aggrevate the symptom.
jeffv22
I rocked it some but i had a small trailer on the back so i didn't do it much. I have 10w40 atv oil in it. I checked that it was full. I just changed it not to many hours ago.

jeffv22
Thanks Macgyver55. Thats what it seemed like had happened. My brother was saying thats what you get with that oil. He said I should be running like 20 50. I think my book says like 10w30 not sure.
Macgyver55
20-50 is way too heavy for winter use. You'll have a tough time starting in cold weather.
