tip_upclyma
I am heading out to a 40 acre lake/pond that holds walleye, bass and northerns. The lake is a simple bowl shape with a max depth of 25'...any ideas as to where to go fish? I can find a couple of cuts and steeper drop offs.....but I was also thinking since the lake is so small....should I just go to the middle and fish the 25' basin?I am going to be punching quite a few holes...but if anyone has some advise...it is GREATLY appreciated! bgreen82
i'd guess there on the weedline or in the weeds. probably not much deeper than 10 ft. never hurts to be close to deeper water though.
fishermatt
It wouldn't hurt to try the deepest part of the lake either. If you fish around the deep hole and don't find much, look for the weedline. Even if it's a bowl shape there should be a couple places where the break makes an inside turn. tip_upclyma
I appreciate the help...I figure I will start in the middle, and work my way to shallow....Thanks again!
northernsportman
I myself would start out shallow and then go deep... weeds are gonna have the plankton, minnows, etc. attracting the fish.
JimBuck
Yeah, I'd look for shallow weedlines early in the season and work from there. Anytime you can find the green stuff the fish aren't far away.
