Speaking from a mostly carpet background, I can agree with Crazyeeyes about the manufacturers warrenty being more of a "guideline" than something to hang your hat on.

Problem with flooring warrenties is it's a product made to last many years, and the wear of the product is heavily influenced by the care it's given, plus what constituties "normal wear" is VERY subjective.

Buy the right product up front, of good quality, and take good care of it. Don't count on the warrenty.
