Question

I have a wall heater that is on high all the time, gets really hot and the shuts down. Any ideas on what the problem could be or were I can take it to get it looked at in Central or north central MN. Any help would be great.

The heater goes on and off like it is suppose to until it gets to hot could that still be the thermostat. when i turn it on the knob is on low and about a quarter turn it goes to high all the way to the high poition.

Does it work again once it cools down some? unit probly has a high limit thermostat (safety switch) that will shut it down if it gets to hot..If so gas pressure could be to high, perhaps some other issue with the burner..or faulty safety switch

mikey627, I'd say it sounds like your 'high temp limit switch' is bad. It's just a 'pop' switch that about any reputable HVAC shop should carry, unless the heater's built in Timbucktue. Even without a fan in the system, the HTLS will control the flow of gas through the main gas valve if it gets too hot. Phred52
