lookingforluck
So I have been debating getting a RV converter for my wheelhouse to charge the batteries when I am running the generator during the day. I know in using this system I could run my 12 volt stuff while charging the batteries. Here's the question ... Could you just use an onboard charger like the ones you use in the boat? Could you be charging the batteries and use your 12 volt stuff? Onboard chargers are cheaper than an RV converter so I am hoping your can. Thanks! Big Buck Buster
Check to see what the amp output of the charger is before you go that route. They might not have the amp output you will need.
minnesotathorn
the on board charger just converts 110 volt to 12 volt. you can run any 12 volt or 110 volt equipment with the generator running & charging the battery at the same time. i have used this setup for years & have had no problems. minnbowhunter
I have been using a regular battery charger in my house for years, works fine for me.
