    Wheelhouse Pivot Arms

There is no plate behind the hub. There is not much room between hub and the leaf springs. Anyone know if you buy a whole new assembly? Thanks, LFL

    Wheelhouse Pivot Arms

thanks dukhntr, The reason I believe I need to buy assembeled pivot arms is because it is not a solid Axel and the hub is welded directly to pivot arm. I don't believe you could change just those parts. Can you buy a whole assembly with brakes/hub/leaf spring? If so I would just swap them out. Thanks, LFL

    Wheelhouse Pivot Arms

I do not know which axle I have. I am not real familiar with this topic. I was looking at the hub with the wheel off and it does not really look like there is room to add a brake. There is not really much room where the lugs come out of the hub and the frame. I know it is a very sturdy frame that was made in Alexandria by a metal shop. Thanks!

    Wheelhouse Pivot Arms

Hello all, I want to add electric brakes to my wheelhouse and I am wondering what the best method to do this is. It is 8x19 with a hand crank and leaf spring set up. Do any of the fish house manufactures or frame shops sell the pivot arms with electric brakes? I have looked around a little bit but have had no luck. I was thinking of just replacing the whole pivot arm with a new one that had brakes already installed and then just wire it up. I know people have sent them to someone out in western MN (?) to have this done but I think as long as I can get the parts I should be able to get this done myself. Thanks for any help! LFL

    Charging question

So I have been debating getting a RV converter for my wheelhouse to charge the batteries when I am running the generator during the day. I know in using this system I could run my 12 volt stuff while charging the batteries. Here's the question ... Could you just use an onboard charger like the ones you use in the boat? Could you be charging the batteries and use your 12 volt stuff? Onboard chargers are cheaper than an RV converter so I am hoping your can. Thanks!

Power source for 12v lights in fishhouse

Here's what I do and it has worked really well for me: I just bought some wheelchair batteries. Mine are Sealed Lead Acid (no maintenance) and they are 35 amp/hr. They are about the size 2 vexilar batteries put together. They are interstate brand and have a nice little handle. They seem to last a really long time, depending on what you are running. Much better than hauling a large car battery in and out. Depending on where you find them, the cost can vary quite a bit. LFL

Arctic cat Prowler vs. yamaha rino

I am seriously considering a 09 prowler with 700 efi, has anybody had any experience with this machine? It seems like you do not see many of these out there but from my research and test drives, its a great machine. Any thoughts?

    Frabil Fortress Portable

I also own this house and while I have only used it a few times it seems like the seats are to straight up and down for me. I wish they had a little more tilt as I feel like the chair is trying to push off of it while I fish. thinking about making a mod to make the chairs have some tilt. other than that it pulls awsome behind the wheeler and is very roomy and warm.

    Hanging Combo's in Wheelhouse

What do you guys use to hang the extra rods/reels on the wall? Just the standard berkly vertical rod holder or is there something better more suited for ice rods/reels? Thanks, LFL

Arctic cat Prowler vs. yamaha rino

I am leaning towards the getting a prowler myself seem like they are real sturdy and should stand up to a lot more than some of the others, IMO.

    Effect on ice?

The distance between the tires has to make some kind of difference, doesn't it? If you have the the same contact area (4 tires) and same weight but have them in real close, say a foot apart as compared to 10 feet this would change how the ice underneth is effected right?
