hcmpls1
I am thinking of buying one. Was looking to see if anyone else owned one and why they went the electric route vs gas.
luckydave
I love mine. No fumes, gas on hands, tune-ups, fuel line problems. Easy to charge. Drills enough holes from battery for my type of fishing, or you can run it off a vehicle battery with the included cables if you drill lots of holes. Plenty of power for deep ice. Won't ever go back to gasoline model.
hcmpls1
Perfect - thanks for your input! One other question, roughly how many holes do you get off a charge?
WinterHaven
If your looking to get away from gas you may want to consider the Ice Gator. Lots of power and I have yet not to use all the juice in my batteries in one outing by drilling holes. I have drilled 30+ holes in over 28" of ice and the auger never slowed down a bit, it has the fastest RPM's on the market and goes through ice like melted butter. I agree with luckydave, I will NEVER go back to a gas auger again.
ib_jigged
I love mine. I can get 6 holes through 40" ice on a charge. Put it on the charger in truck , fish a bit, if I need to move it is ready to go again. If I need to, I connect to wheeler or truck battery to keep drillin'. dfv87
I can do a dozen through 24" pretty easy. I also use my wheel house so I can run it off the INhouse battery and then... do even more.
