Briggs engine oil blowing

Have a briggs & stratton 8hp on a chiper/shreder that the fuel pump is not working all the time. When the engine does start oil blows out the tube that goes to the air cleaner. Could the fuel pump cause the excess crank pressure as it is a diafram type. It is a model 192432 0122-01.

Sounds like a bad blow by to me. Do a compression test and see what you got.

That may be why the fuel pump does not work consistantly and explain the oil also. I will try the compresion test next, but I think there is a compresion release for easy starting. It should give me some idea where I am at.
