TyGuy02
looks really good! and fun! One thing I could see that you might want to spend some money on is a protective cover for the big buddy. I got mine at cabelas for $20. It also has pouches for two extra disposable tanks. It might ease your worries when it dings around and it gets dark and gets thrown in the bottom of the sled. just a thought. Good Luck

Good Luck Yeah, I looked at that and I have been kicking around building a box for it to set in. Right now, it sits perfectly in the sled. The Folding chair sits behind it, then the pop-up. 5 gal bucket in front of it. So it isn't sliding around. I plan to make an auger mount on that side of the Big Buddy. servocam
Dear All,Again, I would like to thank you all for the advice that got me started. I'm looking forward to getting out with my son for our 3rd season soon. I was forced to lay around today, which is extremely difficult for me to do. While I am still a novice ice fisherman, I thought I would try to return the favor for the next newbie looking to get started. I enjoy writing app notes and technical docs for my coworkers. I only have a few hours in to this, but a good start and looking for some feedback. I may need help getting some pics. take a look and please provide feedback. Again, this is rough draft and have not proof read...work in progress.... Intro to Ice Fishing Prelim PDF
servocam
Have to apologize for those taking a look and link being broken I posted a new rev and did not go update with a new link and notice a good 100 people have looked at this thread since then. Here is the last posted copy. If any feedback, please comment. Still a work in progress. Don't go looking for grammar mistakes as there will be many. Looking for advice on content and some pictures (I will probably end up getting some from the manufacturers. Some sections will be moved. Others have been added that are not yet in this copy. servocam
So Newbie me is now on season 4 now. I added 2 more kids since the start, so 5 total now (and DONE!). Looking at getting my 2yo out with me as she loves "Fishies." The wife got me a Frabill Ice Suit for Christmas and I LOVE IT! She got it for nearly 1/2 price (She is an awesome shopper). That with my Baffin Impact boots that I got last year for almost 1/2 price...never cold or wet. It is nice having the power auger. I was given one last year and had to buy a new gas tank, fuel line, and new blades. While it is old, the StrikeMaster fires up and drills holes. I have been using the Craftsman premixed fuel as I don't use that much per year and it is in nice container and won't spoil on me. I don't have my Ford Edge anymore and now have a Nissan Maxima. I'm still able to get it all in the car. Starting to think maybe I have too much stuff??? Added a 2nd sled that I put side-by-side so I don't have to stack so high and/or carry my hub on my back. The Clam Command Post hub is still working out well. I'm starting to have issues with one of the zippers, which was a concern after year one. I'd still like to get a flip-over...someday. Eye'n up a Frabill. I have been really enjoying my Marcum UW Camera (also purchased <1/2 price) - like it nearly more than my flasher for panfishing. Great with the kids as well. I'd like to buy a better flasher and a new UW Cam in the coming years. I also finally published online the first edition of the Beginner's Guide to Ice Fishing eBook version of what I have learned over the past 4 years to aid others to get started. If you have a Kindle and a Prime member, you can download it for free (I think it will be a few more days before it shows up in the library). Thanks again everyone for the initial advice!
