Night Yotes??

Recommended Posts

You can mount the light to your SHOTGUN but I'd advise against it because it means you have to swing your shotgun while looking. Tiring and not safe.

You can use rifles at night if you are not using lights. If you are using lights, you are limited to shotguns.

It's a funny deal how it came to be that we can't use rifles with lights but can without them. Tony Cornish, a state legislator and retired conservation officer was against lights at all. Felt there'd be too much poaching. But, finally settled on shotguns only because he felt that with rifles it wouldn't be safe as people would be shooting too far and would be unable to identify their targets. He felt there would be too many dogs, deer, etc shot by accident. Hmmm, let me think... I can shoot at my target no matter how dark the night is with a rifle but if I put a light on the critter to help me identify it, then I can't because it would be too hard to identify my target???? HA HA... Tony also made me delete raccoons from my bill. He said that during that time period, 'coons would either be hibernating or mating and that we should leave them alone.... My thought is.. SO?????

Tony and I didn't see eye to eye on too much during that time. And he is still not my favorite person. But, I have a feeling I'm not in his top ten either.

TRUE or FALSE?

Can a person shoot (hunt for) coyotes (daytime), with a rifle, durring muzzleloader deer season?

Sure you can. Remember that our system says we can do it unless there's a law that says we can't. There is no where that it says we can't do that. The rifle restrictions are for the regular firearms deer season. Get out there and stack up those yotes!
