Limit Creek Extendable Spinning rod is a great longlining option

I've had one for a couple of years and have used for dragging jigs on the river and regular rigging on lakes. Have even put it use slip bobbering. This fall I wanted to try it out longlining cranks on Minnetonka for walleyes. I teamed it up with 20lb Sufix Premium Metered braid and a Symetre 400 reel and it has become my favorite combo. The braid is marked every 25ft so I know how far back the lure is and the sensitivity of the rod let's me know how the lure is running - easy to feel weeds etc. The added plus was when my lure got fouled up I would just reel it in, clear it and quickly recast it. This rod will throw a Rapala HJ10 80ft without even trying. No waiting for the line counter to feed out line. Back to fishing depth in no time.

The final selling point is this rod is just a gas to play with big fall walleyes. Felt every headshake and change in direction and yet had enough power to keep fish out of structure and weeds. This is one very versatile rod and it comes a nice price to boot.

I will agree these are great rods.Very versatile and fit in a average rod locker when not extended. All my trolling rods are telescoping rods in the 7'10-9' range.

Mark I would suggest 10# line for eyes. gets baits deeper and 10# is still enough to get the big boys in. I have caught many eyes in the 27-31" range on 10# power pro or trilene XT.

I agree on the 10lb braid but not available as yet in the metered Sufix. I also had to consider occasional musky/pike and having to pull a fish out of the milfoil now and then. If the bite proves to be finicky I have my line counters all loaded to go with 10lb. I do use a fluoro leader as well.
