bonefish
I never thought I would ever be interested in reloading, but now that I just had to have a 6.5 WSM a friend built, I have no choice but join in on the fun! I'm stepping into the world of predator hunting this fall as well, and I can see reloading some .22-250 rounds in my future. I just need a good spot to do it. Right now my un-insulated garage is my only option so I may be kindly asking someone on this forum if I can "rent" their reloading bench for an afternoon this winter
waskawood
Hey Bone. It is a great hobby. It gives me something to do in the winter. I am in the process of finishing off my "toy room" but until that is done I reload on my wife's granite kitchen island. You can make a small stand to mount your press and a small vise to hold your case trimmer. My point being is that you can get by without anything fancy as you grow into the hobby. I started loading when I was about 15 years old,40+ years ago. When I moved about 8 years ago I sold it all thinking that I was done shooting but the WalleyeDevil here on the forms got me back into the hobby. I had to buy new and start all over. All I do is punch paper and shoot a few varmints but I would like to go shoot prairie dogs some time. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions. picksbigwagon
Bonefish, there has got to be a place somewhere in your house to set up a small table and a press, it doesn't take up that much space. when you are done, pack it all back in a storage bin.... bonefish
Hmmm, I thought you have to be on a heavy bench, with the equipment bolted to it? If that isn't the case, then I'm in business sooner than I thought! Are you just temporarily clamping your stands to your counters/tables with C-Clamps? picksbigwagon
If you read my post on reloading, my reloading bench is made with a kit from Fleet Farm with 3/4" plywood top and 2x4 framing around it. You can make it as long or as shot as you wanted. Mine is 2'x4' but you could make it 2x2 if you wanted. Then just bolt it to a stud in you wall and it will be pretty rock solid....as far as packing stuff up, I meant all the extra stuff.....then you'll need a bigger bin, and a bigger table, and then a chargemaster 1500, and then a gun range membership, then an addition on your home for a gun vault and reloading room then 400 acres to really stretch out your shots.....but I digress
