Glaucous Gulls in Flight

AS you can see I was out at Wisconsin Point at the Superior entry looking for different species of gulls and also a reported Cave Swallow. I ran into Jim Alm and we had a great time photographing Thayer's Gulls, Iceland Gulls, Glaucous Gulls and even saw some distance Lesser Black-backed Gulls and Great Black-backed Gulls. Jim was kind enough to let me use his 100mm-400mm lens and these photos were taken with Jim's lens. I thank you Jim and this winter we should have a blast going after some owls together!

Mike your BIf shots turned out great and thanks for all the ID help on the gulls cause there is no chance I would have got any of the names correct. I stayed and shot the breeze with Nate for a while and that got me home a little too late to go through my shots but I will post some up tonight. Another thanks for introducing me to Peter and I believe it was Charlie and Jan. All are really some very nice people to share the great day that we had on Sunday. Those spotting scopes have some serious power compared to my camera lens. We could see a flock of Swans that were out on the big lake that were close to a mile away crazy It will soon be time to get to the bog and chase the winter birds.

P.S. I hope you did not get too hooked on the 100-400 wink
