After Market Auto Body Parts in the Twin Cities area?

castmaster

Question

My daughter swerved to miss a deer last night and ended up in he ditch under some brush and beat ehr car up pretty good. She is alright, a bit shaken up but not hurt in any way which is the biggest thing.

But now I am in need of a replacement hood and passenger side fender for a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to buy body parts from at a fair price?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shhot me an email at [email protected], please put auto parts in the subject line so I dont accidentally delete it.

Yes I did that. Thanks though Valv!

Also, does anyone know how I find out what years body parts are interchangeable with others? I've checked Viking, Metro and any other local yard I can think of in hopes of finding a hood and fender that wont need to be painted, but none of them have any. I did find a hood and fender at a place in Georgetown MN but they are off of a 2001 and her car is a 2002. They said it will work, but I'd like to verify that before I drive to get them and spend the $$.

Also how do I find out if there is a difference in body parts between a GL model and regular model? Any place online to look for that info or do I need to call the dealer?

For those that have got the CertiFit parts, are they paint ready or does it have the cheap primer that needs to be sanded and resealed before painting? I've talked to a couple people that have bought aftermarket parts from otehr places that were primed with lacquer(?) primer that allows moisture through and then rust under the paint.

certifit isnt bad but in the business we call it SORTA FIT. Cause it Sorta fits. They are cheap but you get what you pay for and the panels just dont fit right. try to find a car at a yard that is the same color cause the paint will match for sure cause it will be sprayed by GM not a body shop and it will be almost PERFECT!
