Esox_Magnum
The 300 Curado is a muskie reel, I got mine used from propster I think on here a couple years ago and still going strong today. Great reel for my daughter and wife to use since I have moved on to the Toro. Still the best reel in my arsenal for picking off Jet Skiers. NCLaker
I personally don't have backlash issues with the Toro, but I have let numerous BC "beginners" use my Toro's and Curado, and consistently they have fewer/no issues with the Curado compared to the Toro's - just seems to be more forgiving. I wouldn't expect experienced BC users to have this issue as is evident by the responses. My Toro HS is actually one of my most used reals - very happy with it.I through this out there because I assumed his son was new to BC's, after reading back a few more posts I see he does use them, so I guess wouldn't really apply to him (my bad). jeffreyd
Thanks again everyone, my son who is 14 and knows everything about anything told me last year that he did not need to practice with his BC. So with that in mind, he spent a lot of time clearing out spiderwebs. He did however get pretty good with it after a few days of throwing it. I will do some research on pricing etc on both reels talked about and let you all know what we choose. As far as fishing only Leech, I will seek input as time comes for other close by lakes. Not having a boat is the biggest reason for staying on Leech as we can rent one with our package. So that is why we fishing there so much. Thanks again everyone. hunter991
People who get backlashes usually are 1. casting into the wind2. not setting the reel up correctly for the weight of the bait3. not spooling correctly.. (too much or too little line)if you correct all these things you will NEVER backlash. I haven't in years. but i take the time to set my reels up for what i am throwing. I have had way more backlashes fishing for bass using bass reels.
