Sherpa
I'm wondering if it is better to empty my gas tank for the winter or fill it and add Stabil. My tank is one of the plastic 6 gallon tanks.
marine_man
Either or... doesn't really matter in my opinion...If the gas is untreated (and even if it is if you're comfortable with it) dump it in the gas tank of one of your vehicles and then you don't have to wonder next year.marine_man
Ralph Wiggum
With a 6-gallon tank, I just dump it in the truck.
jasper60103
Empty it where?I have a gallon or two left over, and it's treated with stabil.Plus, I figure I can mix with fresher gas next season.
marine_man
In your vehicle if you have a full tank of gas should not be a problem.marine_man
Sherpa
I would just dump it in my truck but it's mixed 50:1 with 2 stroke oil so I don't think my truck would like that. It's good to know that it is fine either way. I will just have to see how much gas I have left after my last time on the water and go from there. Thanks for the responses. marine_man
If you have your pickup full of gas (somewhere to the tune of 20 gallons) and you add some 50:1 mixed gas the oil is going to be so diluted you shouldn't have any issue.marine_man
Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Just like adding top lube to the valves
