Elk River area

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, Im planning on going bowhunting one last time on Friday before gun season starts. Ive never bowhunted in the area, I always hunt north of Mille Lacs. Anyone know of any decent public land nearby with a chance of at least seeing some does. I see there is the Sherburne Refuge and a few various small WMAs around. Just looking for some simple tips to get started. Thanks.

Go to sherburne and find a wooded piont that goes out into one of the many swamps or one of the islands in the swamps you should see deer and not just doe's thier are some giants there also. Make sure wich area you are hunting some areas are closed for diffrent activitys.

I live in Mille Lacs and there are several. Glendorado, Sand Dunes, Ben Lacs, Bibles Slough, Kunkle. I always look for ares that are still near standing corn and that would funnel then past me. High ground in a wet area near a food source such as corn or beans.
