Tannor396
I finally got my lease for the year. Now I need to put my camper on it. I usually get it out there before the beginning of September. With it being this close, what are the thoughts on getting it out there now. Sooner better or have it show up with me the night before opener?Land is 80 acres with good sign on the south end. I want to put the camper on the north end as far away as possible. Will the deer notice (yes), will the mind and change patterns?
SM1
I have had deer walk within 40 yards of my camper in the evenings...this is when I came out and got set up on a friday afternoon before the morning opener. Sometimes I wonder how much it really matters. At this point all you can do is put it out there if that is where you need to stay.I think you are doing the right thing by placing the camper as far away as possible from where you are going to sit.Unless you are hunting with no pressure from surrounding land, I would say a lot of bets are off on opening weekend-lots of people moving deer and some of their normal patterns get broke. Sure they will keep many of the same habits but we all know hunting pressure changes things.
