LETS Statewide WINNI CAMPING

Recommended Posts

Hey all,
It's time to get your campsite reserved for the Winni Event on July 26-27th.

I have picked the following campsite for our use-
http://www.reserveusa.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/nrrs/mn/oneg/newindex.html

This is the best option available. Only this one has electricity within the Cut-Foot Souix chain. The Winni Dam Campground has power too, but if we get bad weather, there will be no place to hide out.
The Camp we are at does not have a boat ramp, but one is located up the road 1/4 mile and some of the campsites have lake access so we could beach there for weigh-ins and lunch. A minor problem, but one we can overcome.

Mark and I have campsite #12 reserved for Thursday thru Sunday (just in case you all want to avoid us...lol) And the following sites are available as of 5:30 pm today. All have power and all are right together-
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14

There are other sites available as well on the other side of the loop if you want to be anti-social...lol

So get the reservations in ASAP!!
See ya on Rainy!!!

Shawn and I will be in #11! We will be sharing the site with Capt'n Josh and First Mate (& New Daddy) Josh Raw!

If you want to save a few buck, pair up with another team, you can have 2 vehicles per site and maximum of 8 people per site.

Can't wait until the start of events at the end of the month!

Dang nabbit Grabs, you took my #11!

I hate that stupid web site. It told me this site was open (#11), that site was open to only type in my info several times and find that the sites are taken. I finally found a phone number to get me outta that mess! I wonder how many charges are on my credit card now????? frown.gif

Team CDPP will be in #10...

Guys,
I'd be very careful.
They count a boat trailer as vehicle #2, so Grabs and Josh, if you both are staying at the same site, you now have 4 vehicles, unless you plan on leaving your boat somewhere else. Also, the maximum length of all vehicles combined is 40 feet.
Good luck!

That's interesting,...I need to go back and do some reading up on that.

Just called the # for the park (218)246-2123 and they said it wouldn't be a problem, vehicles are trucks or cars, not trailers or boats.

That's interesting too.....
Spent a lot of time in those Federal Campsites and they have ALWAYS counted a trailer as a second vehicle.
Just thought I'd give you a heads-up.

When I made reservations they asked me about vehicles. I made it clear that I had a boat, and two trucks and I needed a site with 40' minimum for parking. They never said anything about a boat being a vehicle. Actually the lady quoted "I don't care about the boat". It sounded like we were both having bad days smile.gif
