Non resident bowhunting

Recommended Posts

Im a MN resident that has the oppurtunity to hunt some private land near Menominee soon. I seen on the WI DNR site there is a "Antlerless Herd Control" permit available for $2. I cant find any info on it though. Is this a regular archery license where you can only shoot a doe? Are there any area or application resrictions? Otherwise I will just buy the $160 regular archery tag. Thanks.

You must buy the Regular license first, $160. With this there is a free antlerless permit that will be good in your zone. Unlimited additional antlerless permits are available, at I believe you're right, $2 each..

Think of the antlerless herd control tag(s) as an opportunity to shoot another(or several) does with gun/bow/muzzleloader if you are in a herd control unit.

Out of curiousity which part around Menomonie are you hunting? Some good hunting around it.

Any more questios fire away, hope the posts answered your question. Good luck!

Sweet, the Knapp area is beautiful deer country - I love driving through there on I-94. I used to hunt a bit east and south of you until it got leased. Plenty of deer and some dandies - its like a miniature Buffalo Co as far as the layout of the land. Granted that was 3+ years ago and things could have changed but I doubt it. You'd be hard pressed to find much better. Not sure if that part of Dunn Co used to be shotgun only but its now rifle. Keep us posted!
