Question???

Recommended Posts

I use a Canon Digital Rebel XSI and a XTI for my photographs. I use Tameron lenses for my lense artillary..

I am a little disappointed in the colors that I get on my photographs. The colors are not that vivid eye popping color that I see most of your photos have.

My question is "Is this because I am not using the Canon lenses or am I just messing up on my exposures?"

What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

Some of the other guys on here will give you a more complete answer, but the bottom line is a little of everything. Some lenses will transfer color better than others, exposure can make a BIG difference as well as the capabilities you have with your processing software. Some cameras have menu options for some in-camera adjustments. It's a combination of everything that can make an image "pop".

While top quality lenses off sharper images with more vivid and crisp color than their less expensive counterparts, there's a lot that can be done in post-processing software with color.

Pretty much every photograph I've ever posted in here has been sharpened and to some degree saturated for additional "pop" in Photoshop. You can set your in-camera picture styles to sharpen, add contrast and saturation, but with a few exceptions I prefer to do those things after the capture so I have full control rather than letting the camera do it.
