Looking for a hunting partner / buddy

Gaurav

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new to hunting, I just got my firearms safety last April but do not know where / how to hunt. I do have a 12 gauge and a .22. I live in Mankato, MN and have heard that there are lot of good land around here. It would be nice to have someone to hunt with. My friends are not into hunting.

Thanks

G

Gaurav, you should post this in the Mankato forum because you would more than likely be able to get a response from around there. Good luck, if possible, you might be able to contact a nearby sports club to see if there is anyone who would be able to hunt with you too.

I do both just day trips and weekend trips. The IN-LAWS live in Blue Earth so i usually start there and than head to Iowa usually about an hour to hour and a half drive from Blue Earth to Iowa spots. Safety is always the most important thing while i hunt. I have taken buddies hunting in the past and have never let them back cause of concerns. There has to be trust among those with a weapon in hand. Care about dogs and each other is a must. This year i will be headed down to Iowa for just opening morning, need to be back to Blue Earth by noon or so. But i will be headed back to iowa throughout the year. sometimes during the week other times on the weekends season runs til Jan. 10 license costs about $95 for the year.

a day here or there for upland ducks are hit and miss when i can go. i have never been i the field opening day in iowa for more than two hours. and that was with four guys 12 birds. i would be surprized not to shoot a limit by 11:00 lots of corn still up i'm sure but that will be good for late season birds. If your interested in iowa give me a call. 651-295-5110 Brad
