The rut is no differnet in ND as it is in Minnesota. In the past 17 years of hunting in North Dakota, I have found that the prime time rut when the bucks are really running is about 1 week to 10 days into the rifle season.

The opening weekend for rifle has always been just getting started but a week later, things seem to be going pretty good.

Down by Jamestown about 15 years ago I was driving on the interstate in mid November when I saw a 6-pointer chasing a doe. Chased her right up onto the interstate breakdown lane and completed the sale as cars were speeding past.

LMFAO!
