Which GPS????

I am going to get my wife a GPS unit for Christmas and i was just wondering what unit to get. I know nothing about them. She can get lost going round the block. What do you folks have and what would you recommend.

My brother has had 2 Garmins and really likes those. I see a lot of tom toms in customers cars but I don't care for the small screen size. Personally of all the ones I see I like any that have a larger screen. We ain't gettin any younger and those bigger screen are a lot easier to see!

I just recently got a Magellan Roadmate, originally $200 at Radio Shack on clearance for $69.99. Works great, and at that price, couldn't go wrong

I've got 4 Garmins in the truck, wife's minivan has a factory GPS.

I use the GPS for all wood deliveries and it hasn't failed me yet.

I've got 2 older Garmin 350's and 2 newer voice recognition 880s.

The voice recognition is nice, you just hit a button you wrap around your steering wheel, and then just tell the GPS where you want to go, or what you're looking for.

No typing while driving.

I just picked up a Garmin nuvi 500 and am quite pleased with it. Pretty much the same as the other garmin's but its geared towards people that actually might use it for outdoors stuff.

Its waterproof and you can load fishing/hunting maps into it too. I still use my h20 on the boat, but this winter Im thinking the lake map feature will be really nice when running the lake with my truck.
