2nd Annual IGL Get Together Boji Bonanza.. POSTPONED until later date.

Recommended Posts

After the 17th I'm good anytime. The bite is slow right now and getting around is tough, I think giving it a couple weeks may help open up the lakes a little and hopefully bite pics up. I'll have my sled avilable to pull folks around if conditions dont improve. Bites slow now so I'm playing on the toy more than fishing, a few guys are doing ok but its a select few.

Thats my 2 cents anyway good or bad.

Okay so the way I see it that it is official that we agree to WAIT for a later date... So this is the official announcement that we will postpone for a later date...

What I need from everybody is suggestions for a date that will work for most and maybe some up dates on lake/ice conditions...

Let me know and we will go from there...

Thanks

I am posting from inside the shack. Finally got it set today. I don't know what next weekend looks like for anyone else but I will be up with a bunch of buddies next weekend. Fishing today has been great. Catching walleyes at noon.

There is clear access at Buffalo, Red Nose and Anglers. I would not recommend anglers if you have a house you are going to drive out, the ramp is narrow and steep.

I had no trouble getting my house out on Buffalo.

Had I known that the weather was not going to be bad, I would have headed up there. They cancelled our plans for Saturday, so the youngest and I headed to Paulina. If I would have known that nothing was going to happen weather wise Saturday, I would have drove up there instead. We stayed closed because I thought that the rain snow that you were supposed to get was going to be a mess. I am comtemplating the Winter games next weekend. I will let you know.

I know they redid Paullina a few years ago.......Did you catch anything of decent size out there? It's only about a 15min drive to Paullina for me, but I've never fished it since they just redid it. I'd like to know if it is even worth a stop.

Came up tonight. Sitting in the shack right now. The ice is good, the slush is gone. Have had quite a few come in, but nothing so far.

I am off Buffalo still on Spirit if anyone is around tomorrow, look me up. Black Wrangler, white perm.

Looks like its been awhile since I have been here. Paulins is still full of dinks. We went the last 2 Saturdays. My boy got 30 the first trip and 35 his second. The ice sure didn't seem as safe the second trip. We were by where the trees are sticking out between the ramp and the cabins. The first trip was great. The second the ice seemed thinner and sure was making some noise. It was cracking as you walked. Doubt I will be back. But we did see a northern the first trip. Swam right under my boys hole. It was pretty cool. There were some people down by the dam on the second trip, not sure how the ice was or the fishing in that area. Where we were at, you could see down to the bottom in 6 FOW.

From Paullina originally. Just catching a bunch of little gills up there? Would like to get over there as it would be a short trip for me and it's hard to find many close, productive trips this year. Anyone know how the fish/ice has been recently? I'm shocked you ran into a northern in that lake! Hopefully not many of those or we may never see a decent class there!

We went to Pualina two weeks in a row (23 &30). The ice on the east end seemed great the 23rd. A week later I was real nervous. The 30th trip there were people over by the dam on the west end. Not sure how they did or the ice over there. Have to watch around that new dock as they leave the aerator on. It is well marked and you can still get around it, just don't get too close.

As for the northern, a couple of other people have seen it too. I thought that I was seeing things went it passed through. There are plenty of little gills to catch there. That is why the youngest one and went there. He was able to catch at least 30 of little guys both weekends. I don't know about the dam end, but the east end you can see down 6 feet to the bottom. He liked that too.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
