Length and action of your jerk bait rod?

I am going to purchase another shimano compre for jerkbait/glider fishing.

I would really appreciate info on the rod length and action that you use for this application.

For med-small side-side glides/WTD I really like my Med/Heavy with a fast tip. Especially for baits that only require a tap of the rod tip to work it. I don't use this for D&R JB's.

For heavy WTD/glides, and all my D&R JB - I like my Compre XH 8". VERY versitile rod IMO - Also great for ripping large cranks, tossing dawgs (not pounders), and big blades.

I still use my 7'2" Guide Series H for all my Jerkbaits. and WTD. 7'6" would probably be ideal imo but the 7'2" works great and every once in a while I will use my 8' mh for jerk-baits. It can depend on the hieght of the boat.

8' or 9' whatever 1 I pick up. My predator rocks on Hellhounds.

I use a 7'6 XH for all of my Mantas, Hellhounds, Phantoms, Burts, etc. I like the control I have with the longer rods on with these baits. For my dive and rise, i.e. Suicks, Bobbies I prefer a 6'9" XH Gander Guide series rod. I can work the baits much better with a shorter rod.

Ultimately, it is all about personal preference and what you feel most comfortable using.
