LMITOUT Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 The Download speed is the speed that the data is going TO your computer FROM the internet.The Upload speed is the speed that the data is going FROM your computer TO the internet.So when you're browsing the internet, downloading music, etc, the Download speed is the one to think about.When you send emails the Upload bitrate comes into play.They (internet providers) have limited bandwidth to divvy up amongst all their customers so they throttle back the upload speeds since most of your online time is spent browsing (downloading data).
