tying down siding on trailer

Ryan_V

Question

I'm going up to Mille Lacs next week to re-side my perm. I have a load of vinyl siding I'm bringing up and I'm wondering how I can tie it down to make the 115 mile trip without loosing all or part of the load. I have a 12' aluma trailer with very low sides (about 2-3").

anyone have any ideas they have tried that have worked?

I would get a big tarp, lay it down on trailer so most of it is hanging of the FRONT. Lay siding down on top of it, then wrap the sides up, then the front back down over it all. That way the wind won't get into it and wreak havock. Then use some big ratchet straps to bind it good.

Basically, you are making your self a giant siding burrito smile then strapping it down.

The tarps work great for me with anything that could catch wind. Good luck!
