hey scott! many of us guys that have gals that either allow us to fish ( alot!) or love to fish with us or by themselves, we consider special. this site gets use by many males as well, but makes it easier for the gals to locate one another, and to share things. i.e. types of fishing, locations, gift ideas, and moral support for each other. i think it is great! just how i feel about it. del

I agree with Del...we are "special" hehehe j/k wink.gif. Seriously, think about it, how many women do you see out there actually fishing. Not many compared to the number of men. When I am out there with the hubby I will look around (summer or winter) just to see how many women are out there, not many, but I think that is slowly changing.

I think this forum is great although I don't come here as often as the main forums. It gives us fishin'chicks a chance to talk about stuff that the guys probably wouldn't bring up or roll their eyes at rolleyes.gif . I know this is the era of equal rights etc. etc. but sometimes us gals just need to get together and chat. Just my .02

I agree we are special! I was looking for a site before and it was all men so I just kept looking. Then I found this site and it is the only one I go to. I read all the forums that I am interested in and the guys are really great about answering our questions and not making us feel like idots. So thanks
Rick for making a spot just for us special fishingchicks!

Hmm. I'm a guy (married, kids) and I stop by to read and occassionally post 'cause I don't ice-fish, and my usual forums are kinda cold right now (pun intended). The Political Power forum hit a sandbar, the Mississippi River North forum is ice-clogged, and the Regional forums are all "ice ice ice". I like this spot.

Equality? Yes and no. Equality pertains only to treatment under the law, jobs, housing, and the like. Men and women are different and that's why a special forum for women involved in the sport is a good idea. One of the differences that make this forum nice is that women tend to be less confrontational than man, so there's less bickering and 'bowing up' on this forum than I've seen on others. Another is that women are more likely to engage in abstract topics, while men are more grounded. This is a fun place to wait for ice-out, and still talk fishing.

My wife is, frankly, sick of hearing me talk about fishing, and there is still a good 4 months of ice left.

Women are different, and there's nothing wrong with a women's forum. Now a Scandinavian Open Water But Not Lakes Over 300 Acres On Friday forum might be considered a bit of pandering.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
