Boar
I have some great pics on a site that has recently heated up, two night feeders of one goodbear an pics of a a smaller bear an daytime pics of a large sow an triplets, very cool pics, once a sow an cubs are on a bait site they pretty much take it ove unless a dominate male enters the scene. My Q's is how to get rid of her with out moving? I was thinking on rubing down the hide of the dominate boar I shot with a towel an leaving it at the site an spreading around his scat that I collected n see if she moves on. What do you guys think? HunterLee
Don't know. But I had a big boar coming to my site, and he scared all of my other ones away. Now he hasn't hit in 5 days. He could of left the other ones alone so something would eat my bait. Did add a bait to a different area, trying to get the others to come back. My bears are gone as of now- seen some bear corn pile by the bait today, but he didn't eat, not sure how long it has been there, but not to long. bogwalker
I don't think it will work. A live dominant boar in the area might rule the roost but the fading scent of the big guy probably won't. She has to pack fat on herself and those cubs in a hurry. She will den up before long. As you know the biggest boars are the last to head for a den. Then you will have your chance at a big boar. Just my opinion.Good hunting! HeviShot
I had the same thing happen on one of my sights Hunterlee, had several bears working the bait. After a big boar decided to take a nap for 4 hours on the bait pile one night (got pictures) all other bears left the sight for good. And now the big guy isnt even returning, it has been 6 days now. I found a chunk of bear fur on that sight with the skin still attached and even got a photo of the battle. I took the fur and moved it to another sight where I have a mom with triplets and hopeing she will go as she has also taking over that sight. Overall has been probably our best year for numbers, but trying to keep them around consistently has been problems ever since the full moon.
