Angle Iron frame fractures and Weight Question?

I had read an old post about the Ice Castles frames breaking (with the angle iron)up North on the rough Ice roads. My question is where are the stress fractures likely to occur? Also, is 2900lbs considered heavy for a 6 1/2 x 16? What would be the average if it is?

Fractures in the angle iron are most likely to occur where the weight is obviously. Where the stub axle is welded to the frame is a common place. The stub axle is what supports the weight that is put on the wheel system. The tounge of the trailer is another area that gets alot of weight applied to it.

2900# is a reasonable weight for a house that size in my experience.
