Engine make BIG puff smoke! Stop.Smell oil. Oh no!!

Played what I call Chinese Roulette yesterday and bought a Sanborn 6hp heavy duty week whacker-like the DR Mowers. Only cheap. With thirty minutes on it BIG puff white/blue smoke. Bad hot oil engine smell. Stop. I check all and everything seems fine. This morning, just for the heck of it I pull starter rope and fires right up. Stunk a bit. Blew a bit of smoke. Settled down and I just used if for 45-minutes.

I send six rice cookie to whomever can tell me what going on here?

Actually, the machine seems to be very well made and plenty sturdy etc.

Might just have coughed up a lung luger....some leftover cozmoline in the rings or something odd like that. Run it, see if it seats in and behaves itself. Keep your warranty card and receipt handy...just in case.

Isn't that what it cost to build it in the first place ?

when you hauled it there is a chance it got tipped or oil got sloshed into the combustion chamber causing the initial puff of smoke at initial startup.
