vanhea20
I have a Brittany and want to start taking him to some state land for training. Can anyone recommend some land around the Cold Spring/St Cloud area that has a combination of short and long grass? Any suggestions would be appreciated. gspman
Better check DNR regs. There are rules around training on state land. You may need to have your dog leashed at all times. I'm unsure if there are rules around releasing pen raised birds on state land.
vanhea20
Thanks for the info. I do not plan on releasing any birds. I just want to get him out to run and work on commands with him. Until he is trainied I plan on keeping him on his check cord.
raymondk
on state land you do not have to have them leashed after july 15 but all federal land is off limits for training which has the nicest grass to train on til hunting starts (morning dove) it is hard to find state land that has some nice grass you will be doing alot of driving look for some that was burned off. also for all you experts on laws read the book instead of taking somebodys word on this sight
